A Family Legacy
Born from a 35-year legacy in ecotourism and conservation—pioneering South Africa's first white shark protections—we're 2 brothers passionate about sharing the wild—we're good at this because we live it
1991
IT’s 1991, AND CRAIG FERREIRA, White Shark hunter turned conservationist, is the Operations Director for the SA Natural History Museum's, White Shark Research Project. Following years of hard work, he and his team finally win the battle of making the White Shark a formally protected species, marking 1991 as the first time the species had been protected anywhere in the world.
That victory birthed White Shark Projects, South Africa's pioneering commercial shark-diving operation, and later White Shark Africa—a 35-year ecotourism legacy that educated and inspired thousands while driving real conservation wins.

TWO
BROTHERS
Storm & Cruise - we're 2 brothers passionate about sharing the wild—we're good at this because we live it. We do it because we love it.

Boys on a boat
Sharks, boats, TV shows; the 3 sons of the Ferreira family were there for the whole ride. In 2010 the family moved onto a catamaran and sailed the world for 3 years. In their 20's the boys continued the family tradition in conservation and adventure, travelling all over the world in search of good waves, wildlife experiences and ways to influence the world on matters of environmental protection.
Storm and Cruise, now in their late 20's found themselves in Tromsø. A fondness for the nature of the region quickly escalated to Magnetic North - a way to enlighten more people on the wildlife question and to share experiences we feel priveledged to have had throughout our lives.
