Surf & Sail

The Arctic Coastline isn’t about palm trees, youre not in the Mentawai—it’s raw, remote, and untamed. Snow-covered cliffs rise straight from the fjords, and you’re often the only person on the break.

Overview

Life Onboard

For a week, the expedition catamaran is your base—warm, comfortable, onboard sauna, and positioned for the best conditions. The crew monitors swell, wind, and weather. With over 30 years of surfing experience, the crew will do their best to to give you what you came for, whether you're pro or joe.

Evenings & Comfort

Evenings are social and cozy. Freshly caught fish is prepared by a professional chef, and the crew reviews plans for the next day.

The Ocean

Throughout the autumn, winter and spring, the oceans around Tromsø dish out consistent swells in the 2-7 meter range. The winds can get strong and the expedition is adventurous to say the least. With such a multifaceted coastline we're  usually able to find clean, favourable surf conditions no matter what the swell and wind direction is.

The Surf Safari you never knew

you needed

September to May unlocks Tromsø's secret surf paradise, where North Atlantic swells crash into pristine fjords, delivering consistent, crowd-free waves up to 10 feet amid snow-capped peaks. Ride glassy barrels or long peelers powered by winter storms. Good to know: Our eco-certified tours feature expert guides, top wetsuits, and small groups for tailored coaching. As a surfer, you know wave success cant be guarenteed. That being said, with the shorline being so multifaceted , we have a lot of freedom and opportunity to work around wind and swell direction. Whether honing skills as a beginner or chasing barrels as a pro, this is sustainable surfing at its rawest.

Day 1

Welcome to the Arctic! Your adventure starts at 14 when we meet at the dock. On arrival you will be met by the crew and other fellow adventurers. Before we set sail at 16:00 we will do a gear check to make sure you dont need anything extra, get you settled into your cabins and have some snacks. After all that jazz, we will cast off lines, raise the sails, and set out on our expedition. During the trip out into the fjords, you will be supplied with more information about the trip, as well as have a safety protocol runthrough. We will later anchor in a bay close to our first surf spot. Once on anchor we will make dinner, discuss the plan for the coming day and have a chilled evening.

Day 2

We kick off with an early breakfast on board, then take the rib and head to the surf spot. After a solid surf, we will either stay anchored at the same spot, or sail sail to the next spot, Oh yes, lets not forget the onboard sauna that will be warm and ready when you return from your surf mission. Yes, we plan on having a sauna each evening, one could ask for nothing less.

Day 3 & 4 & 5 & 6

We let the swell, wind, and your stoke level call the shots on which objectives we choose these days. Nobody knows where the best spot will be till we are out there. On these days we will likely be off the beaten track focusing on spots that are only accessible by boat.

Day 7

On the last day we will aim for a morning surf before heading back toward Tromsø. En route to the dock we pack gear, and square away the boat. We tie up in Tromsø in the afternoon some time and end our expedition.
